Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two major health and nutrition campaigns — Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan and the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah — on his 75th birthday, September 17. The initiatives mark the largest health outreach programme for women and children in the country.
As part of the launch, AIIMS Delhi will organise medical check-up camps at four centres — the main AIIMS campus, Trilokpuri Centre, Ballabhgarh Community Health Centre, and Jhajjar. The camps will provide general and gynaecological check-ups, cervical and breast cancer screenings, ophthalmic consultations, and blood donation drives. The services will be open to women on a walk-in basis from 9 am to 2 pm.
“Women’s participation in hospital OPDs is significantly lower compared to men. This campaign, initiated by the PMO, is designed to encourage more women to prioritise their health,” said Dr Nirupam Madan, Medical Superintendent of AIIMS.
The nationwide drive will see over one lakh health camps set up across government facilities between September 17 and October 2.
In Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi will also launch Adi Seva Parv, a service-oriented initiative for tribal communities, distribute one crore Sickle Cell Screening and Counselling Cards, and inaugurate the PM MITRA Park in Dhar.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda will lead parallel events, inaugurating health camps and Poshan Maah activities in Haryana, aligned with the nationwide rollout.
Meanwhile, in a landmark humanitarian effort, the Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad (ABTYP), in collaboration with the Government of India, will organise the Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav 2.0, billed as the world’s largest blood donation campaign. On September 17, more than 7,500 blood donation camps will be held across 75 countries, including India, setting a global record in voluntary service and patriotism.
